Unique charity edition of the Community of St. Eugene (the biggest pre-revolutionary publishing house of postcards) with two illustrations and six highly artistic initials. A great example of prime polygraphy of the time and Russian folk art which was revived by modernists in the beginning of the 20th century.
The poem by Aleksei Tolstoy (1817-1875), count from Tolstoy family, Russian writer, was based on legendary Novgorod bylina (Russian traditional oral epic narrative poem about heroes).
