An extremely rare book of advice about raising a baby, published in Tbilisi, Georgian SSR, in 1927. The edition was compiled by Leon Israel’yan (1885-?), a pediatrician and author of a number of books on children’s health. The book consists of 12 sections and elaborates upon such topics as proper breastfeeding, how to soothe a baby, what a mother should eat, how to dress and bath a baby, etc. One section includes 12 rules that mothers should follow to raise a healthy and responsible Soviet child. Another interesting section contains detailed guidelines on the spiritual development of a baby. Overall, an extremely rare survival of the time and one of the earliest books on the topic published in Georgian SSR.
