‘Roar, China!’ was written by futurist poet Sergei Tretiakov who worked at Meyerhold Theatre where Vsevolod Meyerhold (1874-1940) produced this play in 1926. Later it went on foreign tour, and on tour of provincial theaters in the USSR. This play was very successful mainly because of its plot - fight of Chinese dockers against American colonizers.
