The first edition of this book by the founder of Russian radiation therapy Polien Grigorievich Mezernitskiy (1878-1943). In 1909 he was working alongside Marie Curie. Radium was synthesized in 1910 and this book is the first one in Russian dedicated to the element, describing it from the medical point of view. In Russian radium was synthesized only in 1921.
The second half of the book dedicated to the examples of the use of radium in different therapy with authors remarks on where else it could be used.
