Vladimir Lebedev, the edition includes the commentary. Yakov Svet (1911-1987) – the Russian geologist, translator and travel writer. He is the author of several books on the Pacific, including the biography of James Cook (1963) and ‘The history of the discovery of Australia and New Zealand (1966). He has contributed
the preface to this edition.
The book is designed by Solomon Telingator (1903-1969), the student of El Lissitsky and the classic of Soviet book design by the 1960s.
