This brochure was published for “working audience, members of art and drama sections of workers’ clubs and members of art councils of theatres. It is suited for average prepared reader who is interested in the art of theatre and set design. The purpose of the book to give a general idea about contemporary set design and role of the artists in theatre”. For examples the author used the most famous productions of the time from such theatres as MKhAT, Meyerhold Theatre, Theatre of Revolution, MOSPS, Proletkult, Sinyaya Bluza and others. Such names as Akimov, Popova, Rabinovich, Yakulov, Fedorovskii, Tatlin, Sudeikin, Shlepianov, Golovin, Sergeev and others. Text accompanied by many photographs.
