Item #903

Moscow: Nauchno-tekhnicheskii otdel UVD Ispolkoma Mosgorsoveta, 1959. 27 pp.: ill. 17x12,5 cm. In original printed wrappers. Fine.

For office use only. Copy #1158 (stamped on front cover and t.p.). This is an interesting photomontage edition produced for police officers in the late 1950s.

The richly illustrated brochure briefly explained what most important identifiers police officers needed to know about a suspect. The special attention was drawn to facial information. The compilers made photomontages comparing a variety of the face details: shape and proportions of faces, size of eyes, heaviness of eyebrows, etc. The required part of the head was cut and included in a set of 2-4 different photographs, placing vertically.

Except that, the handbook contains a double-page scheme of main details, including general anatomy, clothes, physical features and peculiarities. The possible photomontage of the whole suspect, basing on the described features, is printed at the end of the book.
