Very rare poster of the Soviet industrialization period. It called to subscribe to a magazine ‘Industrial’nyi kozhevnik’ [Industrial Tanner]. The periodical came out biweekly during a short period, in 1930–1931. It was the organ of the All-Union Association of Leather Industry. In parallel with it, a Petrograd/Leningrad magazine “Golos kozhevnika” [Voice of Tanner] was published in 1917-1934 as the organ of the Association of Trade Unions of Tanners. Designed in a constructivist style, the poster features a reproduction of its cover design placed multiply.
Likely, its author is Ukrainian artist Efrem Svetlichny (1901-1976). Born in the Kharkiv province, he studied in the Kharkiv Art Institute in 1922-1929. Since 1927, Svetlichny took part in art exhibitions in the USSR and abroad.
