A rare Soviet brochure on the notorious cases of the Scottsboro Boys. Nine African-American teenagers were accused of raping of white women and attack of white men. The landmark set of legal cases from this incident dealt with racism and the right to a fair trial. The cases included a lynch mob before the suspects had been indicted, all-white juries, rushed trials, and disruptive mobs. Until the convicted defendants were finally sentenced, this Soviet brochure was published. In the USSR, this publication was aimed against oppression of workers and racism. Comparing the incident with other trials over Black people and the case of workers Sacco and Vanzetti that ended with the death sentence, the author called to struggle for the rights of workers.
