A fundamental work, prepared by the Belarus section of the Writer’s Union, that started right after the end of the war. The goal was to create the corpus of texts of Belarusian poetry, from the first examples in the language in the mid 19th century, until the present day. Also included was folk poetry, with the songs of the Belarusian partisans of WWII selected in the designated section.
The translations were done by Samuil Marshak, Nikolay Zabolotskiy, Vera Zviagintseva, Mark Lozinskiy, Arseniy Tarkovsky, Arkadiy Tvardovskiy and others.
