The earliest Soviet book on the mechanization and equipment of concrete works by civil engineer A. P. Eremin, featuring over 300 black-and-white illustrations, including photographs, technical drawings, and plans. According to the foreword, the edition is based on materials gathered by the author in previous years with the support of the Institute of Construction, founded in 1927. In the book, Eremin examines the principles and methods of mechanization in concrete works, highlighting those that have proven effective i3n practice and gained widespread adoption abroad, including in Germany and the United States.
Special attention is given to the most widely used and standardized machines and equipment (Hercules System by Haider-Schulz, the Perfect System by Peedinghaus, the Fabricius System, and the Universe by Futura), with a clear preference for German designs over American ones. The edition also covers key topics such as stone crushing and sand processing, washing and sorting aggregates, cutting and bending reinforcing steel, and concrete mixing.
The numerous illustrations primarily depict machinery— stone crushers, sifters, sand separators, and gate valves—alongside various mechanization processes and rare cross-sections of Soviet concrete plants, including Dneprostroy, Selmashstroy, and Volkhovstroy.
