"Muleta" is a literary and artistic almanac published in Paris since 1982 by Vladimir "Tolstoy" Kotlyarov. It is well-known as an shocking, over-the-line rebellious artistic publication, however this issue is dedicated more to the worldview of the compliers: the works of Kropotkin, Bakunin and Makhno are reprinted alongside with works by Muleta memners: Eduard Limonov (the piece ‘The disappearance of the barbarians’), Alexei Khvostenko (poems), Tolstoy himself (‘The lessons from Chinese anarchism’),
Katsapov (likely a pen-name) (‘The appreciation of Makhno movement).
Being a performative artist, Tolstoy’s politics took different turns over the years, but in 1980s his interest in anarchism was noticeable: he also has found a group "The Black Redistribution of Land and Freedom" in Paris, having developed a theoretical concept within which he proposed, in particular, supplementing the classic triad of
"Freedom. Equality. Brotherhood" with another one—"Mutual Aid. Enlightenment. Honor."
