First edition. The edition came out in series ‘School library. [For eight-year school]’, that was issuing the books for extra-curriculum activities for pupils. The content of the book is separated into the dances and games for the pupils of the elementary, middle, and high-schoolers. The international element could be detected in all of the dances: Latvian, Ukrainian, German, Bulgarian, Belorussian, Lithuanian, Czech and Italian (Tarantella) national dances are included. The games for the VII-VIII graders are at times complicated: in one of the games, called ‘Poslovitsy’ requires a good knowledge of Russian folklore and erudition to win.

Lidiya Nikolaevna Bogatkova, a dance teacher at Moscow School No. 37, published 11 dance manuals for young people in the 1950s and 1960s. Her works include “Dances at a Youth Evening,” “Dances of Different Nations,” “Round Dance of Friends,” “Dances of Peoples of Different Countries,” “Dances and Games of the Octobrists,” and “Dances for Children with Methodological Explanations.»
