In this book for the first time the overview of Lomonosov's contributions to chemistry and physics were described by B. Menushkin. Along with that Iossa and Vernadsky gave the account of Lomonosov’s works in mineralogy and metallurgy. A lot of materials used in the books are presented for the first time as they are taken from manuscript archives. The book also contains Lomonosov's work on the history of travels to the Arctic Ocean.
