Moscow photographer Alexander Khlebnikov had won a number of major statewide competitions, and was a friend of Rodchenko and Stepanova. Like his teacher B. Podluzhsky, Khlebnikov sought to treat photography as an applied art, and is considered one of the pioneers of Soviet advertising photography.
Solomon Telingator was the student and follower of El Lissitskiy and one of the most important book designers of the 1930s. His famous book ‘The quality steel’ came out in 1935 and the deluxe version of that album featured the steel portrait of Stalin and the steel plaque on the cover. ‘Podshipniki’ was created in the same technique.
